Stickers & Labels, done properly
Labels come on the roll for applicator use or on sheets for hand-application, die-cut to any shape you like: round, oval, or cut to the outline of your logo. Food labels go on materials rated for chilled and freezer use, so they do not lift in the fridge. Floor graphics are printed on a textured anti-slip laminate, which is the part most people forget — an ordinary vinyl on a floor is a slip claim waiting to happen. Window stickers are printed and cut face or reverse depending on which side of the glass they are going.

What should you know before ordering stickers, labels & floor graphics?
Do you need labels on a roll or on sheets?
On a roll if a machine applies them; on sheets if people do. A label applicator needs labels wound onto a roll to suit the machine, so bring its details. Sheets are easier to peel by hand at a counter or prep station. BD Signs supplies both, die-cut to the same shape, so you can move from sheets to rolls when volumes grow.
Where will the label be kept?
Tell BD Signs before anything prints, because storage decides the material. A label on a chilled sandwich or a freezer bag needs an adhesive made for cold and damp, or the edges lift in the fridge. Our food labels go on chill and freezer-rated materials for that reason. Labels for dry goods, bags and boxes can use standard stock.
Which side of the glass will the sticker go on?
Decide before it is printed, because it changes how it is made. A sticker applied to the outside is printed face-up as normal. One applied inside but read from the street is reverse-printed, so it reads correctly through the glass and stays out of the weather. BD Signs prints and cuts window stickers either way.

Send your artwork and the shape you want — round, oval, or cut to the outline of your logo. Our studio sets a cutter line around it and sends a proof showing exactly where the cut will fall.

We pick the material for where the sticker ends up: chill and freezer-rated stock for food, textured anti-slip laminate for floors, face or reverse print for windows, and standard stock for bags and packaging.

Labels and stickers are printed in our own factory, then die-cut to shape and supplied on the roll for applicators or on sheets for hand-application.

Ready to apply
Everything arrives ready to use. Floor graphics need a clean, dry floor and firmly pressed edges, because the edges are what lift first under foot traffic and cleaning machines.
What rules apply to floor graphics and food labels?
Workplace floors must not be so slippery that they put people at risk — regulation 12 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992. A smooth vinyl graphic on a shop or warehouse floor can create exactly that risk, especially when wet. That is why BD Signs prints floor graphics with a textured anti-slip laminate, and why the HSE's slips and trips guidance is worth reading before you plan where graphics go.
Food labels carry their own rules. Food that is prepacked for direct sale — made and packed on the premises before a customer orders it — must be labelled with the name of the food and a full ingredients list, with the 14 allergens emphasised. The Food Standards Agency explains what counts. The wording is the food business's responsibility; BD Signs prints it on stock that stays put in the fridge.

Are floor graphics safe to walk on?
They are when they are made for floors. BD Signs prints floor graphics with a textured anti-slip laminate on top, which gives shoes something to grip. Ordinary smooth vinyl on a floor is a slip waiting to happen, particularly near entrances where it gets wet. Keep graphics off steps and ramps, and replace any that start to lift at the edges.
Can you print allergen information on food labels?
Yes. We print whatever your label needs to say — product name, ingredients and allergens in bold — on chill and freezer-rated material, so it stays readable in the fridge. The content has to come from you, because only the kitchen knows what is in the food. Send BD Signs the wording and we will set it clearly at a size people can read.
Can stickers be cut to the shape of my logo?
Yes. Die-cutting follows any outline, so a sticker can be round, oval, or the exact shape of your logo with no square background around it. BD Signs sets the cutter line on your artwork and shows it on the proof before anything is cut. Shaped stickers work well for sealing takeaway bags and for giving away at the counter.
