Counter Branding, made properly
BD Signs wraps, clads, etches and lights serving counters so they carry the brand properly — illuminated fronts, etched and frosted glass, printed panels and dimensional lettering. Materials are chosen to take daily cleaning and the odd knock from a delivery trolley.

What should you know before ordering counter branding?
What finishes stand up to daily use on a serving counter?
Hard-wearing laminates and printed panels sealed for wiping down, with protected edges where they take knocks. A counter faces mops, trolleys, boots and cleaning spray every single day, so BD Signs chooses the finish for that first and the look second — then makes sure the look survives it.
Should a counter front be lit or unlit?
Lit if you want to catch the eye at the exact moment someone is deciding; unlit if the budget is tighter. A back-lit front glows under the worktop. A printed or clad front costs less and still turns blank laminate into brand. A lit front needs power at the counter, which BD Signs plans with your shopfitter.
Can glass screens and sneeze guards carry the brand?
Yes, with etched or frosted graphics that add brand and privacy without hiding the food. Glass is also one of the simplest ways BD Signs brings an existing counter into a new scheme, because it changes what customers see at eye level without replacing the counter itself.

Counter survey
BD Signs measures the counter front, screens and any glass, checks the condition of the carcass underneath, and notes whether power is available for a lit front.
- Step 2
Design with the menu boards
The counter is designed alongside your menu boards and frontage, so colours and finishes line up. A visual of the finished counter is signed off by you before anything is made.
- Step 3
Making the panels
Printed panels, cladding, illuminated fronts and etched or frosted glass graphics are produced in our own factory, in wipe-clean, hard-wearing finishes, with protected edges wherever trolleys and boots will catch them.

Fitting around trading
Our own teams clad or wrap the existing counter where it stands, usually before opening or after close. Any power for a lit front is coordinated with your shopfitter beforehand.
Back-lit or printed counter front?
Both turn a blank counter into part of the brand. The difference is how hard the front works to catch the eye, and what has to be in place behind it.

What do people ask about counter branding?
Can you brand our existing counter?
Usually, yes. Most counters can be clad or wrapped where they stand, which costs far less than a new one. BD Signs checks the carcass underneath first, and if it is damaged we will tell you before covering it, because cladding over a failing carcass will not last.
Will counter branding match our menu boards and fascia?
Yes — that is the point of doing it with one company. BD Signs designs the counter, menu boards and frontage together, so colours and finishes line up from the pavement to the point of sale. Customers read it as one brand rather than three separate purchases.
Do we have to close while the counter is fitted?
Rarely. Most counter work from BD Signs is done before opening or after close, so service carries on as normal. Where a lit front needs power, the electrical side is agreed with your shopfitter in advance, so it does not hold up the fitting.
